Fave food: Paella, Dark Chocolate (off season)
Fave Music: definitely Dace/trance from early 90’s to present but I also like Jay-Z and other artist of this genre.
Fave Film: The Bourne Ultimatum. I am also a huge James Bond fan.
Fave Tipple: Red Wine, a good Shiraz or Rioja depending upon what it is accompanying.
Job: Logistics Specialist at Airbus in Bristol, 35hours per week. (4 days).
Training: An average off season week will be 20hrs + easy during the season it’s more like 10-12hrs. I am coached by Andy Wadsworth of Pro Fitness Bristol.
Best Bike ever ridden to date:
Off-road - my Felt Virtue Team, It is the most versatile full susser ever developed 130mm of travel weighing in at 22 ½ lbs with Sram XO, Ritchey WCS and Egg Beater quad Ti pedals.
On the road - definitely my pimped Felt F3 with its Zipp 404’s DA group set Ritchey finish kit and Quattro Ti pedal’s in ltd edition yellow.
Best Race: 08 Turkey Marathon World cup, I was on fire!....
Worst race: 05 National XC Champs at Ludlow, I injured my left leg tendons in a crash on the Saturday before, and could not pedal properly the next day
Other Hobbies: Car’s, I own a tricked out Mondeo ST200 estate running 240bhp, Music, Films, Reading (I like Robert Ludlum anything action based).
Things people may not know about me: I was a fat over-weight, lazy teenager who hated physical exercise until I discovered Mountain biking.
I have been competing since 1996, (the good old days) of 50mm of suss if you were lucky!...
I have come through all of the MTB categories Junior-Sport-Expert-Elite and now I am ranked 26th in the UCI World Cup series at Marathon XC.
I truly believe anyone can do it, it takes sacrifice, will power (no pun intended) and discipline, but above all else a true love of what is a great sport in which you can be assured of meeting some great people travelling the world and making some amazing friends.
